VIVID STUDIO INSIDER FOR JANUARY 21th, 2005VIVID'S LIL JON DEAL GETS INK
---There was extensive coverage last week over
the announcement that Vivid Entertainment has
signed a two-picture deal with the "King of Crunk,"
Lil Jon and The East Side Boyz.
Coverage ranged from mainstream newspapers The
New York Post to television
to the music websites and trades. The stores all
observed that Lil Jon and The East Side Boyz will
have an active role in the productions and creating
the music, and that Lil Jon himself will have
non-sex roles in the features. Everyone took note
of the fact that the films will feature Vivid
Girls, "including Latina sensation Mercedez,"
as well as the adult industry's top ethnic stars.
The first film, Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz Vivid
Vegas Party has already started productions and
will be released this spring with another due
in early 2006.
RAVES FOR VIVID-THE CLUB ---There's
lots of excitement, and praise, for VIVID-The
Club, which opened on January 11th at
the Venetian Resort Casino Hotel.
The intimate, state-of-the-art club is being managed
by highly regarded ARK Restaurants Corp.
under a licensing agreement with Vivid. The Official
Vegas Website, Vegas.com, says,
"Vivid's most impressive aspect is the technology
it uses. Holographic images of dancing girls are
projected throughout the club. Three-dimensional
silhouette images are reflected onto "trans-screens,"
large panels of glass hung above the banquettes
to create the illusion of live dancers." San Francisco
television reporter Rick Garmon
(KTVU) said, 'While there won't
be any actual adult entertainment going on in
the club, the marriage of Vivid and the Venetian
says a lot about the direction of Las Vegas --
a direction I think will end with a big sign at
the city limits saying, 'No Kids Allowed.'" The
official club opening will be on February 4th
with a gala party to be hosted by the Vivid Girls.
VIVID'S "KRYSTAL METHOD" BILLBOARD UP
IN TIMES SQUARE ---Vivid Entertainment
and Club Jenna have erected a 48-foot tall billboard
on Times Square to promote Krystal
Method. The billboard depicts Vivid
Girl Jenna Jameson and her co-star in
the film, Krystal Steal, side
by side in matching lingerie, super-imposed over
huge photos of the two blonde beauties. The billboard
towers over Broadway at 47th Street, at the top
of Times Square. Vivid Sales Director Howard Levine
says the sales numbers for Krystal Method "look
like a million bucks?we are beyond swamped" with
HIGH TIMES FOR SEX TOYS ---High
Times thinks pretty highly of the
Vivid line of sex toys. The magazine dedicated
to recreational good times ranks "Vivid Blown-Glass
Sex Toys" #8 on its current "Pot 10" list of cool
things. "Manufactured by Phalix (phalix.com),
these beautiful instruments of pleasure are designed
specifically for the ladies of Vivid Video,
the top name in adult entertainment." There's
a picture of Jenna holding one of the Phalix products
along side the story.
