VIVID STUDIO INSIDER FOR MARCH 18th, 2005

VIVID STUDIO INSIDER FOR MARCH 18th, 2005

VIVID'S HIRSCH INTERVIEWED BY "INSIDER"

---Vivid co-founder

and co-CEO Steven Hirsch played

a prominent role in coverage of a Congressional

story on the nationally syndicated TV show "Insider"

Wednesday night (March 16). As visuals of several

Vivid features flashed across the screen, Hirsch

was interviewed in connection with reports that

the U.S. Congress wants to extend "decency" guidelines

to Video-on-Demand and Pay-per-View programs and

possibly to cable networks as a whole. Said Hirsch:

"I don't think we've ever seen a battle like this.

They're going after Pay-per-View on TV. Nobody

has the right to tell anybody else what they can

or cannot watch in the privacy of their own home.

We produce movies by adults for adults and we

believe people should have the right to watch

them." He noted that parental control tools are

already available and that to begin legislating

what people can watch is "a slippery slope."

VIVID GIRLS MERCEDEZ & MONIQUE AT WMC

---Vivid Girls Mercedez and Monique

Alexander are heading to Miami for the Winter

Music Conference. They'll be representing the

VIVID nightclub in Vegas at a major Las Vegas

promotion, and both will be "Globe Girls" and

presenters at the 3rd Annual Club World Awards

gala on Wednesday night March 23rd at Nocturne.

Other presenters include Kelly Osbourne, Scumfrog,

Donny and Tenaglia.

VIVID GIRL TERA PATRICK GOES TO COURT

---Vivid Girl Tera Patrick

is in London this week shooting for a "Day in

the Life of?" feature for FHM UK.

Before she left she filed a suit against a California

company that has been using her name and image

to promote an in/outcall escort service in Los

Angeles. The ad appeared in a Los Angeles weekly

and it's a fake. Says Tera in an interview with

Celebrity Justice: "I'm

very angry. The ad portrays me in a light I don't

want to be portrayed." So she is suing Metro

Entertainment, the California company

that she says placed the ad, claiming it damaged

her business, invaded her privacy and confused

her fans. She says fans came up to her after the

ad appeared with the impression that she had become

a "working girl." "They would say, 'Hey, I called

you last night, it was great talking to you.'

And I was like, 'What?' I would do my dance gigs

and they said, 'Hey, I'm going to stop by and

see you later.' And they were giving me the 'wink'

and I was like, 'What are you talking about?'"

"I don't have anything against any of the girls

who do that, but it's just not for me. When I

meet my fans I have my clothes on." The Celebrity

Justice segment will also air on Court

VIVID FEATURED IN VOD STORY ---Vivid

Entertainment is featured in a story

in the San Fernando Valley Business Journal

on the growth of Video-on-Demand. The story by

Jeff Weiss (on 3/14/2005) says in part: "(Mainstream

companies are) not the only local companies to

profit off of the emerging video on demand market.

Adult film company Vivid Video, located in the

Cahuenga Pass near Universal City, has also recently

been increasing its VOD revenues. While Vivid

CEO Steven Hirsch claims that only about five

percent of the company's sales come from VOD,

he maintains that the technology is only in its

infancy and growing fast. 'It's still a very small

part of our revenues but it's growing all the

time. There are two different parts of our VOD

business. We offer VOD over the Internet through

companies like CinemaNow and then there is VOD

television, in which we partner with the cable

companies and Playboy TV,' Hirsch said. 'We see

both of them growing and we will probably double

our VOD revenues this year over last year. I see

VOD, whether it's on TV or on the computer, as

ultimately being a main focus of our business.'"
