VIVID LAUNCHES 2007 WITH FIVE NEW RELEASES Vivid Entertainment is greeting the New Year with a strong lineup of fresh releases. First to ship this week was The Female Gardener , directed by Chuck Lords and starring Vivid Girl Sunny Leone , whose 2006 hit Virtual Vivid Girl Sunny Leone is one of the biggest-selling virtual titles to date. On Jan. 17 Vivid will ship Bryan Xin's Rough Draft , starring AVN Crossover Star of the Year nominee Savanna Samson as a porn screenwriter. The first Vivid-Alt title East Side Story will be available January 23 rd . It has been billed as the ultimate mash-up of underground art and documentary porn and stars Rebecca Linares, Dana DeArmond, Michelle Aston, Page Morgan, Lexi Bardot and Roxy DeVille . Two major productions will be on the streets near the end of the month: first is the Paul Thomas feature Sex and Violins , with an all-star cast led by 2007 Best New Starlet nominee Stefani Morgan with Monique Alexander and Penny Flame . Next will be Tristan Taormino 's Chemistry 2 , the second of her ?reality porn features in which seven performers are holed up for 36 hours in an unscripted sexual free-for-all.

DANA DEARMOND GETS A VILLAGE VOICE RAVE Vivid-Alt star Dana DeArmond is the subject of this week's Lusty Lady column in New York City 's popular weekly The Village Voice . Writer Rachel Kramer Brussel confesses that she doesn't watch much porn, but says she was ?intrigued with the "highly biographical" Dana DeArmond Does the Internet (a/k/a D3TI ) before I'd even seen it. One of the latest offerings from Eon McKai 's brainchild Vivid Alt, it features DeArmond banging her favorite pals and Internet buddies with threesomes, anal, and lots of blowjobs and spitting. I met the totally down-to-earth porn star in the bathroom at a party for Tristan Taormino's Chemistry , and found her utterly charming. Brussel concludes her article by saying: DeArmond seems totally content with her budding online empire one click at a time, and has plans to direct another movie for Vivid-Alt. Porn is a safe, healthy environment for me to act out my deepest sexual fantasies and not fear anyone judging me. It's very freeing. It's just nice to get respect for doing what you like instead of people saying you're a piece of shit."

VIVID GIRLS SPARK UP AEE The lines were long as fans flocked to the Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas to get a chance to chat with the Vivid Girls and get their autographs. Girls attending the show and working at the Vivid booth included The Love Twins, Savanna Samson, Brea Lynn, Tiffany Taylor, Monique Alexander, Kayden Kross, Cassidey, Sunny Leone, Tera Patrick, Lanny Barby and Vivid-Alt actresses Charlotte Stokely and Dana DeArmond .

MEDIA LOOKS TO VIVID FOR GADGET GUIDANCE As the Consumer Electronics Show got underway last week in Las Vegas , reporters looked to Vivid Entertainment for an early heads-up on what's new in technology. As The Washington Post wrote: Historically, the adult industry has been a testing ground of technology, from 8mm films and VCRs to streaming video and clips for a mobile phone. In all those cases, mainstream studios have followed in adoption of the technologies. Noting that the Adult Entertainment Expo was taking place nearby, The Post quoted Vivid co-chairman Steven Hirsch : "The adult industry's reputation for a long time has been that we're guys who get the technology out there and are willing to take chances...It just makes sense that the adult entertainment industry people would be there, as well." Reuters distributed a story worldwide on the battles over hybrid products that some say offer a solution to the high definition format war, observing that many industry experts said they actually extend the battle and consumer confusion.'To me, it makes no sense,' said Steven Hirsch, co-CEO of Vivid Entertainment Group, an adult entertainment firm supporting both formats. Now there will be three discs, adding yet another cost to producers. These two sides should get together to prolong the life of DVDs, since sales are stagnating."
