CHEMISTRY WINS AVN BEST GONZO AWARD - Tristan Taormino's Chemistry won the AVN Award for Best Gonzo Release at the 2007 adult film awards ceremony. The film is a takeoff on reality shows and features seven porn stars left in a house for 36 hours with cameras rolling but no script. It was conceived and directed by Tristan, who is a Vivid Director and New York newspaper columnist. Chemistry was released in 2006 and was Tristan's first film for Vivid. Chemistry 2 is being released this month and Tristan is currently at work on a new generation of sex education films for Vivid. She was on hand in Las Vegas to receive her award and said afterward, "I was completely shocked. Other awards picked up by Vivid and Vivid-distributed studios in the AVN competition. Others included:

Best Editing - Film - Jenna's Provocateur (Club Jenna/Vivid Entertainment)

Best Interactive DVD - Virtual Vivid Girl Sunny Leone (Vivid Entertainment)

Best Sex Scene Coupling - Film - Janine and Manuel Ferrara in Emperor (Vivid Entertainment)

Best Supporting Actor - Film - Kurt Lockwood, To Die For (Vivid Entertainment).

STEFANI AT THE GATE - Vivid Girl Stefani Morgan has given a clue about what has motivated her to zoom to the top of the adult film profession. In an interview with TheGate.com , Stefani was asked how she would you describe her personality as a child? Her answer: "Competitive. Anything under 100% in my classes was not good enough. I started softball at five, striking out meant the world was ending. I began tap, jazz, and ballet at 3 and I took these classes very seriously. When I really care about something, I give it my all." Stefani also had some candid thoughts about being in the adult business in general: "I love that I am able to just be myself, I've always been very aware of my sexuality, and I can act on it openly. I've always been a 'love me or leave' me kinda girl, and with my career I am really just screaming what I love. I think there are so many misconceptions about girls in the business, and the business in general for that matter. People think we are insecure, have had bad childhoods, no respect for ourselves; and the list goes on and on. I am not saying that that doesn't exist, but there are a lot of positive people in the business, and most of us just like sex."
