VIVID SCORES BIG WITH AVN NOMINATIONS - Vivid has snagged a record 168 nominations in the 2008 AVN Awards competition. Among the highlights: Monique Alexander and Savanna Samson will vie for Female Performer of the Year. " Layout " received a total of 20 nominations, including Best Actress Film for its star Briana Banks and Best Director Film for Paul Thomas. PT is also is up for Best Director Body of Work, a new category. A win would mean his eighth Best Director AVN Award. Two other Vivid films earned 16 nominations each. Among the 16 for " Debbie Does Dallas...Again," also the subject of a Showtime television series, was a nomination for Best Actress Film for its star, Stefani Morgan, who was also nominated for Best Actress Film for her role as well as a Best Couples Sex Scene nomination for her performance with Derrick Pierce . A " Janine Loves Jenna," a co-production with ClubJenna , also received 16 nominations, including Best Actress Video for Ms. Jameson, Best Supporting Actress, Video for Janine as well as Best All-Girl Sex Scene and Best Couples scene. Other Vivid movies receiving multiple nominations included " Sex & Violins," 14;" Flasher," 12; "American Dream," 4;" Where the Boys Aren't 18 " and " Stood Up," three each. " Fashion Underground " a co-production with Teravision , received eight nominations. Vivid swept the nominations in a number of film categories, including: Best Actress and Actor, Best Supporting Actress and Actor, and Best Screenplay. The new Vivid-Ed series directed by Tristan Taormino received two nominations, while "Chemistry 3" the third volume in her award winning series also earned two nominations for Best Director Non Feature and Best Gonzo Series. Eon McKai received a nomination for Best Director Non-Feature for "Girls Lie" and Charlotte Stokely was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for the same movie. They were among 13 nominations for various Vivid-Alt imprint releases. Vivid Girl Tera Patrick, who will be the host of the AVN Award Ceremonies Jan. 12 at a gala 25 th anniversary event in the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas , was nominated for the Jenna Jameson Crossover Star of the Year award, as was Savanna Samson, who is also up for Best Actress Video for her work as the star of " Stood Up ."

"TRIPLE ECSTASY" GETS FIVE STARS IN THE UK AND AVN - The new Vivid-Alt film " Triple Ecstasy " gets a stunning and very unusual Five Star review in the British magazine Bizarre . Writer Chris Nieratko , who is billed by the magazine as "our New Jersey porno aficionado" is a particular fan of the film's director and star Kimberly Kane . "And so," he writes, "it was with great honor I felt I should repay her with a quote for the back cover of her newest Vivid-Alt film, Triple Ecstasy . Go buy it and tell me if it made you laugh. " Vivid-Alt head Eon McKai says wryly of the review: "Nieratko is known for his crazy review style." AVN has likewise honored the film with its own Five Star rating.
