11^TH HOLE MAKES AN OPENING SPLASH – Media attention in recent days has been focused on the July 5th release of The 11^th Hole, the sexy Vivid-Celeb tell-all movie starring Joslyn James that is complete with text messages she exchanged with Tiger Woods. AVN gave the B. Skow-directed film a 4-A rating. AVN publisher Paul Fishbein wrote the review himself, reporting that with “the lasciviousness of an E! True Hollywood Story, the film shows you the actual hardcore versions of the sex acts in which the two allegedly engaged. Played by several actors whose faces are obscured by limbs or shot in a way where you never see their faces, the multiple thespians who portray Tiger on the golf course or in the sack all do a pretty good job f*cking Joslyn. The sex scenes get harder as the text messages get more lewd… the final anal sex scene, shot mostly in reverse cowgirl style, really sizzles. Since the actual girl involved in the scandal is doing the scenes, you have a very marketable title.” Ryan Wilson, editor of the NBC Sports feature BackPorch, wrote on the “Out of Bounds” blog: “I know you've got it flagged on your Blackberry, but just in case there's a tragic cell phone battery mishap, here's a printable reminder that Joslyn James' sweeping porn epic, The 11th Hole, hits theaters adult book store shelves on July 5. My only regret is that it won't be in 3D.” His report sparked numerous comments from readers.

VIVID QUOTED IN BUSINESSWEEK STORY – Bloomberg/BusinessWeek covered the controversy over the proposal to launch a .xxx web domain for adult content. Reporter Kristen Schweizer says Stuart Lawley, a “47-year-old British Internet entrepreneur’s ICM Registry is roiling the $13 billion pornography industry after last week winning a preliminary nod for the .xxx domain from The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, ICANN, which approves Web addresses. Should Lawley’s bid pass at an ICANN board meeting in December, the new domain would go into use from 2011.

He expects to eventually log between 3 million and 5 million registrations and become the preferred domain for the industry.’ BusinessWeek quotes several prominent adult industry figures who oppose the move, which the magazine says could earn Lawley’s firm $200 million a year. Among them is Vivid co-chairman Steven Hirsch, who says: “We need to be concerned with what will follow the implementation of this domain. Will all adult .coms be mandated into the .xxx corral and if not, what makes some exempt but not all?” The article also notes, “The Free Speech Coalition, the adult industry’s trade association with more than 1,000 members, says .xxx could make the porn industry a target for ‘anti-adult industry extremists.’”

FLESHBOT.COM SAYS BATMAN XXX IS AMAZING – In an article under the headline Holy Viagra! Axel Braun's "Batman XXX: A Porn Parody" Is Amazing!, Fleshbot.com has nothing but praise for the movie. The article begins: “After viewing the highly anticipated release of Axel Braun's old school Adam West Batman spoof we've come to the unshakable conclusion that it may be the best parody we have ever seen. First of all, the costumes are dead on. The characters are dead on. The sets are, yep, you guessed it, dead on.” Reviewer DyCypher adds, “Axel went all out on this one. Vivid may very well have broken a piggy or two to ensure Axel's vision came correct. It is exactly as we remember it from our childhood, but with a whole heaping helping of hot sex packed in.”
