TILA TAPE BUYBACK OFFER SETS OFF A HISSY FIT
-- Radar Online reported last week exclusively the “crazy” reaction of Tila Tequila to an offer by Vivid to let her buy back her sex tape. “Although Tila Tequila claims to be distraught about her lesbian sex tape being released, Vivid Entertainment owner Steven Hirsch says he gave her the opportunity to buy it back, and she declined. ‘I met with Tila last week and she wanted to buy that tape back. I told her she could for the right price, but she went crazy saying it was too much money and she'd already bought another one back,’ Hirsch told RadarOnline.com in an exclusive interview. ‘I told her if she's not happy, then sue me. I have a call in to one of her attorneys, so we'll see what happens.’" The story further quotes Steven as saying “of the tape titled Tila Tequila Uncorked - a lesbian threesome that leaves little to the imagination… ‘It's already out and doing very, very well and I expect it to continue to do well. It's really the first all-girl celebrity sex tape so people are really interested in that and Tila is really good, and it shows in the tape. As a result, the sales have been beyond our expectations.’" Radar Online also interviewed Tila for a separate article, quoting her as saying that she was “disappointed that (the video) has surfaced, especially now when all of these positive things are going on in my life…I Do, however, have to take responsibility for my part in making the video, which I do. Although this video was not meant for the public to see, I hope that this will not affect my career and that I will continue to work hard at achieving my goals in this industry.”

BLOOMBERG BUSINESSWEEK ON “CADILLAC” VIVID & STEVEN HIRSCH – Leading business magazine Bloomberg BusinessWeek devoted much of its last issue to coverage of various segments of the adult industry. Included in their roundup was a profile of Vivid founder/co-chairman Steven Hirsch. Bloomberg BusinessWeek called Vivid “the Cadillac of adult film producers.” Steven has been credited "with moving the business more into the mainstream” and notes solid sales for the new porn parody series.

COMIC HERO NEWS REVIEWS SUPERMAN XXX – The Axel Braun feature Superman XXX: A Porn Parody gets a thumbs up from Aaron Einhorn of Comic Hero News. Einhorn notes that most parodies are “relatively low-budet, cheap attempts to cash in on the name of the film they parodied,” but Vivid and Braun have broken that mold, first with Batman XXX: A Porn Parody and now with Superman XXX. Einhorn writes that “Batman XXX: A Porn Parody was successful enough that Vivid Entertainment went ahead and created an entire line for their superhero porn parodies.” He says Superman XXX “is a fun little feature, and deserves to stand alongside Batman XXX: A Porn Parody. I look forward to seeing the next adult film from VividXXXSuperheroes.”

Meanwhile, the popular website HoboTrashCan.com reviewed Superman XXX, noting that “Braun and Co. have faithfully recreated the look and feel of the source material, painstakingly matching costumes and sets.” Editor Joel Murphy praises the film, especially “the 30-minute ‘Behind-the-Scenes’ featurette included on the disc. Seriously, it is riveting. You get to watch Axel Braun direct a few non-sex scenes, which makes you realize that at the end of the day he really is a competent director looking to get the best possible performances out of his actors.”
