VIVID STUDIO INSIDER FOR MARCH 11, 2016

KATIE MORGAN SAYS IT’S FUN BEING BACK IN PORN AND ON VIVID RADIO – Katie Morgan, who launched a new show on Vivid Radio earlier this month, says “it’s fun being back in porn and on Vivid Radio.” The long-time star of specials and documentaries about sex on HBO was interviewed by Holly Kingstown of Fleshbot.com, who asked, “So how is being back in porn after seven years off?” Her reply: "I'm having so much fun being back in porn. I've always loved the adult industry and it's so great to see old friends and make new ones. A couple of things have changed since I left. I am so happy that the industry now has fourteen day testing. The last time I was working it was still thirty days. Also, it seems like it's gotten much more competitive with the guys! They're all super hot and crazy ripped!" She also talked about her new Vivid Radio show: "I plan on doing a fun upbeat sexy show, where fans can call in and interact with me and my porn star friends. We take questions from the audience members and answer them live on the air. It's like I always say we're not doctors but we are fucking professionals." Asked about her role in "Zach and Miri Make A Porno" Katie replied: "Shooting 'Zack and Miri' was so much fun. It was a blast working with all those talented people and especially Kevin Smith. But what I definitely remember the most is the cold! I had never spent a winter in the Northeast before. That was that eye-opener for me." She also put in a pitch for her new show: "To the fans, thanks for watching and supporting the adult industry! Make sure you tune in to my new radio show 'Having Sex, with Katie Morgan' on www.VividRadio.com  or the SiriusXM app channel 791 every Wednesday from 1 to 2 PM PT."

VIVID COMES UP IN HULK HOGAN TRIAL – Vivid Entertainment was mentioned by Hulk Hogan recently during a trial in Pinellas County, Florida, when he was cross-examined by lawyers for Gawker. The reference to Vivid was covered widely by media following the trial, with is centered on whether Gawker had the right to post a clip of a sex tape Hogan says he did not know was being filmed (in a sex tape featuring Hogan and the wife of radio personality Bubba the Love Sponge). A FoxNews.com story on Hogan’s testimony during the trial noted: “While on the stand, the 62-year-old had to answer questions about the way he has discussed his sex life in public in the past. Passages from a book he wrote, in which he describes an affair he had, were read, and clips were played from an explicit radio interview he gave to his former friend Bubba the Love Sponge. After Gawker posted a clip of the tape, Hogan said there were many people who assumed he was involved in its creation. ‘It wasn’t about Hulk Hogan making a sex tape,’ he said. ‘That’s not what happened. It’s never been about that…’ He insisted he in no way made the tape to make money. ‘We had calls from Vivid Entertainment who does these pornographic films’’ he recalled, but he said he had no interest in profiting off the tape.”

KIM K TALKS ABOUT NEWEST SELFIE CONTROVERSY (AND HER VIVID SEX TAPE) – Kim Kardashian West has addressed the newest controversy surrounding her posting of her latest naked selfie. In a blog post she also discussed the famous Vivid sex tape, Kim K Superstar: The Kim Kardashian Sex Tape. Pop culture media, such as Mashable.com and PopWrapped.com, posted stories backing Kim. The headline on the PopWrapped story said: “The Sex Tape Double Standard: Why It’s Time To Just Back Off Kim Kardashian West.” The Mashable headline read: “Kim Kardashian Destroys Slut-Shamers In Response To Her Naked Selfies.” Kim’s blog post included these sentences: “It always seems to come back around to my sex tape. Yes, a sex tape that was made 13 years ago. 13 YEARS AGO. Literally that lonnng ago. And people still want to talk about it?!?! I lived through the embarrassment and fear, and decided to say who cares, do better, move on. I shouldn't have to constantly be on the defense, listing off my accomplishments just to prove that I am more than something that happened 13 years ago. I am a mother. I am a wife, a sister, a daughter, an entrepreneur and I am allowed to be sexy.” PopWrapped reported: “So, while Kim is regularly criticized for profiting from the sex tape, people ignore the fact that (her co-star in the sex tape) Ray J did and still does. According to reports, he received an initial $300k as compensation from Vivid Entertainment and then additional money every time the video was downloaded or sold. In fact, as recently as 2014, it was reported during that year, Ray J. received $90k in profits every three months from the sex tape.  But the target has been painted squarely on Kim’s back in this case like a big, glaring scarlet letter A.”

VIVID RADIO AND NAKED NEWS TALK ABOUT MUTUAL MASTURBATION – During one of the popular Naked News segments this week, Vivid Radio host Ashley Blue interviewed Naked News anchor Madison Banes on the subject of mutual masturbation. The discussion was prompted by a recent Men’s Health article with the headline, “Why She Wants to Watch You Masturbate; If It Sounds Creepy or Weird, It’s Time to Broaden Your Horizons.” Men’s Health said, “It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been dating or married to somebody—the idea of masturbating in front of them, or watching them while they masturbate, can seem mortifying. But if you haven’t tried it, some couples claim that you’re missing out. ‘“When I walked in on my boyfriend masturbating, it was the hottest thing I’d ever seen,’ says Jessica, 29. ‘We’ve added it into our sexual rotation.’ What makes it so appealing? The women we spoke to told us it’s like getting a front row seat to what’s normally a very private practice.” Ashley and Madison agreed wholeheartedly.
