PAMELA ANDERSON SLAMMED FOR HER ANTI-PORN COMMENTS -- Pamela Anderson co-authored a Wall Street Journal op-ed piece recently that condemned the adult industry, blaming it for the latest episode involving former congressman Anthony Weiner. She immediately faced criticism for her views. Among the critics was Aurora Snow, writing in The Daily Beast: “Forget for a moment that porn has played absolutely no role in what is publicly known about the Anthony Weiner saga. There is the secondary issue that ‘porn addiction’ isn’t actually an addiction, according to the latest research. And neither is sexting, claims renowned sex therapist Dr. Marlene Wasserman (aka Dr. Eve) and author of Cyber Infidelity: The New Seduction. There’s no rehab remedy for this ‘addict’ behavior.  Never mind that ‘porn is for losers’ sounds like something you’d hear out of Donald Trump’s mouth—or Alec Baldwin’s in Glengarry Glen Ross. Considering the overwhelming number of people who watch porn these days, we apparently live in a world with precious few ‘winners,’ all of whom may very well be Amish (let’s face it: anyone who owns a computer has probably seen porn on it). Last year, according to data compiled by Pornhub, their porn site received 21.2 billion visits viewing 87.8 billion videos—or 12 videos viewed for every person on Earth. And, ironically enough, as one of the first celebrities to profit from a ‘stolen’ sex tape, Anderson accidentally (or not) pioneered a new genre (with Pam & Tommy Lee: Hardcore & Uncensored from Vivid) that contributed to the mainstreaming of porn. Her career flourished, and she capitalized on her sex symbol status for decades to come—including numerous nude spreads in Playboy and the soft core flick Barb Wire. VIVID FILMS SWEEP

FISHWRAPPER.COM BREAKS STORY ON VIVID’S LECHTE OFFER -- Under a headline reading “You know, in Case ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Doesn’t Work Out,” pop culture website has broken a story about Vivid’s offer to swimming star Ryan Lochte.  Editor Sarah Taylor wrote: “Gotta keep all options open, especially when you keep putting your foot in your mouth and effectively closing other options at the same time, you know?  Ryan Lochte's gonna be on this season of "Dancing With the Stars," which, in our opinion, is completely jumping the shark -- y'all remember his previous forays into reality television, right? -- but Vivid Entertainment CEO, Steve Hirsch, has a far more ... interesting venture that Lochte might consider, uh, mounting.”  The story then linked to a copy of the letter Steven wrote to Lochte offering him a film role predicting he would be a “HUGE porn star.”  Steven said in the letter if Lochte wasn’t up for making a movie he could pay him $100k to promote Vivid. So far no response to the letter from Lochte.  The Fishwrapper article was also teased on TMZ.

AIPDAILY POSTS RETRO REVIEW OF LAST GIRL STANDING -- AIPDaily has posted another of its “Retro Reviews,” this one of the 2004 Vivid film Last Girl Standing.  The film starred Vivid Girls Jenna Jameson, Savanna Samson, Tawny Roberts, Kira Kener, Briana Banks, Mercedez and Sunrise Adams.  As reviewer Christina writes, “In this film we see seven of the top performers in adult coming for an audition for a mainstream movie. The girls immediately go into competition mode as each looks for any edge they can. Things get catty though when possessions start going missing and they all suspect one of them as the culprit. Time to find out who has what it takes to be the Last Girl Standing.” After commenting on the major scenes, Christina writes that being a Vivid Girl “was a big deal…beyond having these girls contracted to your studio it was pretty much impossible to get them all together for a single movie like this. So having all of these big names and great performers in one movie is a huge plus…overall this is an enjoyable movie and a must get for fans of Vivid Girls.”

MEDIA INTEREST STAYS HIGH IN KIM’S SEX TAPE -- There has been more coverage recently of the squabble between Ray J and Kanye West about the Kim K Superstar sex tape. The news first exploded when TMZ reported that Ray J is upset by Kanye’s mention during the recent MTV VMAs of Ray’s  sex tape with Kim Kardashian. 411 Mania posted this: “TMZ reports that Ray J is upset that Kanye West mentioned Ray’s sex tape with Kim Kardashian during the MTV VMAs. West mentioned the tape at the event and even briefly brought up Ray J’s involvement. Ray is telling friends that West is a hypocrite, because he bashed him for his song ‘I Hit It First’, which also mentioned the tape. At the time, West called him ‘Brandy’s little sister’ and ‘lame’. He thinks West is only embracing it now to try and get some money. He’s also mad at Kim for slamming him for the song but smiling when West mentioned the tape at the event. Meanwhile, he’s also reportedly not happy about appearing in Kanye’s “Famous” video but there’s nothing he can do about it. His unhappiness with that video has nothing to do with any shame over the sex tape. International Business Times reported:  “Although Ray J and Kardashian’s sex tape continues to haunt them, both have happily moved on.”   Other coverage could be found in The Daily Mail, The Mirror, and Hollywood Life, which had this headline:  “Kanye West & Kim Kardashian: He’s Still Not Over Her Sex Tape With Ray.

VIVID TV SEPTEMBER SNEAK PEEK -- VividTV, the leading adult entertainment channel available on cable systems across the country, will feature two gorgeous blonde bombshells you can meet in September.  First up is Briana Banks, who started her career while she was a stunning, blonde, blue-eyed, 5’10” teenager. She was so popular as a young model that she made the cover of Teen Magazine. Modeling brought her to the attention of glamour photographers and before long she decided to have breast enhancement surgery. The more generously curved Briana soon came to much wider attention. Penthouse named her Pet of the Month and Vivid invited her to become a Vivid Girl.  While at Vivid she became famous for such titles as Last Girl Standing, Undress Me, Where the Boys Aren’t 16, 17, 18 and 19 and Time for Briana among many others.  Briana also appeared in Vivid’s first reality cable TV series “Vivid Valley” produced by World of Wonder.  The series featured stories about several Vivid Girls, including Banks. The beautiful Briana is in VividTV’s premiere of 80 Dirty Dildo Dolls Jam Their Hot Holes with Massive Toys, which started on Sept. 3.

The second featured performer for September is Madelyn Monroe, who grew up in a religious home and went to a private Christian school until she was 17, the year she lost her virginity.  Of that event she says, “I just wanted to get this over with, I wanted to do it so bad.” Her life in adult entertainment followed soon afterwards: “Porn was always cool to me, but I never set out to do it. When I was 18 a scout for one of the adult agencies found me and asked me if I was interested.  I figured I’ll try it and if I don’t like it, I’ll never do it again.  Two weeks later, I flew to Miami and shot my first scenes.  A month later, I moved to LA and here we are!” Madelyn stars in VividTV’s premiere of Hump Crazy Stepbro & Sis Eat Hole & Pole in Taboo Tryst starting on Sept. 16.
